The Theme of Love ....that pulsating heart ...and Brigid

The February Full Moon happens on the 1st of February at 22:09 and so we will be bathing in that snow moon energy on Tuesday the 3rd of February when we gather for our Women’s Circle in the Dublin Wellbeing Centre. This February full moon theme is “Love”. With Valentines in the air and the festival of Brigid and Imbolc, we will use these energies to revive and revitalise the love in our lives. Where are we with the Love in our lives, self love, true love, mothers love and all of the other types of love we experience in our lives.

I could not have imagined how to prepare for this gatherings and the theme of Love when I first hosted it in 2015, 10 years ago now! I questioned it, thinking Love, Valentines, is that really shamanic and in line with nature etc. I couldn’t have been more wrong, with the sudden and untimely passing of my beloved cat, Batman, the learning and appreciation of a pet’s unconditional love. He has been my greatest teacher on this subject of Love. unconditional love and self love.
Stretching and preening himself. Falling over with the presentation of a possibility of a few belly rubs. Trust; as he put his paw on my face and looked me in the eyes, possibly to say goodbye my friend. I know my tears were tears of self-pity being left behind without my previous and loyal friend who always waited for my return home, whether outside at the doorstep and we set foot in the house together or as he came down the stairs ‘meowing ‘ as I walked in the door, sat with me in the evening by the fire, slept by my side, waiting for me to go downstairs together in the morning. Of course, food was another reason to be around me but I felt his love and he did mine. He is with me very strongly in spirit, it is his physical presence that I miss, his companionship. I know this was a special relationship.
Don’t take for granted the loved ones close to you.
Look at your relationships and give gratitude.
If love or relationships are lacking, prepare to make a move!

We can become dependent on others or make choices to suit others and lose our own individual path .....time to re-assess while connecting consciously with our heart.
Brigid was a powerful and independent woman in her time. She stood up for herself and those who needed help. She was a crafter and loved nature. She inspired poetry, blacksmiths and the creative arts. She protects our homes and inspires us to be passionate enthuastic and creative.
"True" Imbolc, the 2nd of the main Celtic festivals, falls around February 3rd-6th, marking the midpoint between the Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox, but it is widely celebrated as February 1st (St. Brigid's Day), a fixed date honoring both the pagan goddess Brigid and the Christian saint, coinciding with the start of spring and lambing season. A public holiday now!
So we will prepare and share Bhrat Bhride, a red piece of material that is left outside to collect the due on the eve of Imbolg and use it for healing and protection throughout the year ahead.
We did discuss the tradition of ‘keening’ at our last gathering and we might dip into this if it is called or save it for another circle.
Realise your full potential with intention and create the beauty that you want to experience. Find space and time to nurture and grow that potential with other wild and beautiful women.
This is a gathering of women, soul sisters, from all walks of life, all ages, coming together around the time of the full moon to share, cleanse, reflect and connect with the wisdom and beauty of each other, the moon, life and our personal soul journeys. Lets be and so that.

“The psyches and souls of women also have their own cycles and seasons of doing and solitude, running and staying, being involved and being removed, questing and resting, creating and incubating, being of the world and returning to the soul-place.” Clarissa Pinkola Estés
